Packages FAQs

In late September, the existing myForest Owner and Agent accounts will be replaced by three clearer tiers, or Packages.
This tiered structure will make it easier for users to choose the right level of support for their needs.

In this FAQ, italic text is used to highlight key myForest system terms, roles, and packages.
These are fully defined in the myForest Glossary for quick reference.

General about the change

How do the new packages compare to my existing plan?

  • Basic (Free): Equivalent to current Free Owner accounts. Includes core functionality to support woodland management for a single Property, at no cost.
  • Advanced (£75/year): Equivalent to current Paid Owner accounts. Ideal for managing a single property with enhanced features including Property Sharing.
  • Professional (£200/year): Equivalent to current Paid Agent accounts. Includes up to 3 properties (with the option to add Additional Properties for £40 per Property per year), ideal for multi-property management.

When do I have to change my Package?

  • For existing Free account holders (Free Owner or Free Agent): you will be prompted to select your Package on your next login. If you haven’t logged in by 30th November 2026 your account will automatically transition to Basic.
  • For existing Paid account holders (Paid Owner or Paid Agent): your current plan remains active and unchanged until the end of your current Subscription Period. When your subscription ends, you will be prompted to choose your new Package the next time you log in to continue accessing your account.

Visit myForest Packages for details of the features available with each Package.

Are there any discounts available?
We want to support our users through this change. The discounts offered depend on the account type you have when the new account structure is launched.

  • For current free users:
If you wish, you can transition directly to the new Basic Package, which will remain completely free of charge.
Similarly to current free accounts, some functionality limitations will apply to Basic.
If you choose to upgrade to a paid subscription, for access to myForest Premium Features, early bird discounts will be available. Free Owners will receive a 50% discount on your first year’s subscription to Advanced. Free Agents will receive a 50% discount on your first year’s subscription to Advanced or Professional.
To take advantage of these offers you must subscribe by 30th November 2026.
  • For current Paid Owner accounts:
If you subscribe to Advanced within 12 months of the end of your current subscription, you will be eligible for a 50% discount on your first year’s subscription.
  • For current Paid Agent accounts:
If you subscribe to Professional within 12 months of the end of your current subscription, you will be able to enjoy unlimited free Additional Properties (in addition to the inclusive allowance of 3) for a further 12 months.

I have a Paid Agent account. If I cancel my subscription or choose Advanced or Basic, will I get a refund?
If you cancel your subscription or switch to Advanced or Basic, this will be applied at the end of your current Subscription Period. You will be able to continue using your account as normal until then so no refunds will apply. After that you may be eligible for discounts on selected packages for a limited time.

If I upgrade during my Subscription Period, how much will I be charged?
Upgrades from Advanced to Professional will be billed pro-rata, based on the number of days until your renewal date. Upgrades from Basic will be billed at the full annual rate.

I currently have a Free Agent account where I manage fewer than 4 Properties, and I don’t plan on managing any more. What’s the best new package for me?
In order to continue to manage multiple Properties you will have to change to the Professional package. You will get best value by taking advantage of the offer for current free users - upgrade to the Professional package by 30th November 2026 for a 50% discount on your first year’s subscription (£100, instead of £200, to manage up to 3 Properties).

I currently have a Free Agent account where I manage 4 or more properties. What’s the best new package for me?
In order to keep managing more than 3 properties through myForest you will need to change to the Professional package, and pay for Active Properties in addition the the inclusive allowance of 3.
To smooth this transition we are offering an exclusive upgrade path before the new packages take effect:

  • Subscribe to a Paid Agent account for £120 by the 18th September to continue to benefit from unlimited properties for the first year of your subscription. Visit Agent Account Settings for information on how to subscribe.
  • Transition to Professional for £200/year when your Paid Agent subscription expires (after 12 months), where you will benefit from the offer of free additional properties for a further year.

This effectively gives you free Additional Property Slots for 2 years after you subscribe to a Paid Agent account, giving you plenty of time to adjust to the new system while keeping all your current Properties fully active.
But remember, to benefit from this offer you must upgrade to a Paid Agent account by the 18th September.

What is an Active Property Allowance?
The Active Property Allowance is the number of Properties in your account that you can fully open, edit, and work on. These could be Properties you created or were transferred from another user. Your Allowance is determined by your Package and the number of additional Properties you have purchased during your current Subscription Period (Professional only). Properties that belong to other users and are shared with you for collaboration do not count towards your Allowance.

Property Type Counts Towards Allowance? Can You Open & Edit? Notes
Active Property Yes Yes Properties created by you or transferred to your account.
Inactive Property No No.
Reactivate, transfer or delete only.
Locked/greyed-out properties on your account.
Shared Property No Yes.
(dependent on Property Role)
Properties hosted on someone else's account that you've been invited to work on.

What is the difference between Active and Inactive Properties?
Active Properties can be opened, viewed and edited without any restrictions. Inactive Properties are greyed out and cannot be opened. The only actions you can carry out on an Inactive Property are to:

  • Reactivate it, subject to having availability in your Active Property Allowance
  • Transfer it to another myForest user (Advanced and Professional only)
  • Delete it

Can I have more than one Property shared with me by other myForest users?
Yes, there is no limit to the number of Shared Properties that can be shared with you.

How do I close my account if I no longer use it?
You can close your myForest account here.

Basic and Advanced Packages

How many Properties are included in my Allowance?
You have an Active Property Allowance of 1. If you have more than one Property, you will be asked to choose which one to manage as your Active Property when you choose your package. The others will be Inactive Properties and won’t count towards your Allowance.

Can I have more than one active Property?
No. In order to manage more than one Active Property you will need to subscribe to a Professional package.

How can I change my active Property?
First you need to delete your Active Property, or transfer it to another myForest user (Advanced only). Then you can either:

  • create a new Active Property, or
  • reactivate an Inactive Property.

Professional Package

What is my active Property Allowance and how does it work?
You have an inclusive active Property Allowance of three plus an unlimited additional Property Allowance consisting of active Property ‘slots’ which cost £40 per year. Slots are renewed at the same time as your subscription and are chargeable pro-rata.

What happens to my active Properties if I downgrade to Advanced or Basic?
These accounts have an Active Property Allowance of 1. If you have more than one Property, when you downgrade you will be asked to choose 1 Active property to manage. Any others will become Inactive Properties and can only be reactivated if you upgrade again to Professional, or delete or transfer (Advanced only) your Active Property.

If I already have more than 3 Properties in my Agent account, what happens to my Properties when I upgrade to Professional?

  • When you upgrade, all your Properties will become Inactive Properties and you will be able to select which Properties to reactivate. If you select more than 3, you will be charged an annual fee of £40 for each Additional Property.
  • An Inactive Property can be reactivated at any time by increasing your Property Allowance, by deleting an Active Property, or by transferring an Active Property to another user.

Can I reactivate an inactive Property?
Yes. You will need to have a vacant Property Slot in your Active Property Allowance. There are two ways to do this:

  • Free up a slot in your Allowance by deleting an Active Property, or transferring one to another myForest user, then simply select a Property to reactivate at no additional cost.
  • Purchase an additional Property slot for £40 (pro-rata) then select a Property to reactivate.

How can I reduce my active Property Allowance?
If you have paid for Additional Properties, you will have the opportunity to reduce your Allowance and select your Active Properties each time you renew your subscription.
