The following is a glossary of myForest terms, which appear in Italics.

Package
myForest users can choose from a number of different Packages, or account types. Each one offers a different combination of features. For more details click on the link above.

£0 Basic Limited single property functionality.
££ Advanced Full single property functionality.
£££ Professional Full multi-property functionality.

Premium Features
Features that are only available with a subscription to the Advanced or Professional Package.

Property
A Property is an area or areas of land, usually under the same ownership or management control (equivalent to a Forest Management Unit as defined in the UK Forestry Standard). It may consist of a single contiguous block of land, or a number of separate blocks, usually in the same broad geographical area. In myForest, each Property serves as its own independent workspace, with its own mapping, data, and sharing settings. This allows you to set distinct permissions, track operations, manage documents and download reports for each Property individually.

Property Role
Each Property can be accessed using one of three Roles in myForest, which controls what a user can do with the Property.

• The Property Manager has full control of a Property, including property transfer and deletion. Essentially they “own” the Property in myForest. A Property can only have one Property Manager.
• Editors can edit all aspects of a Property except for property transfer and deletion. A Property can have any number of Editors.
• Collaborators can edit basic property details, and all functionality accessible from the Mapping Live View. A Property can have any number of Collaborators.

Editors and Collaborators are controlled by Property Sharing.

Active Property
An Active Property is one which a user can open, view and work on without any restrictions. Active properties count towards your Active Property Allowance.

Active Property Allowance or Allowance
This is the number of Properties in a user’s account that can be fully opened, viewed and worked on and for which they are the Property Manager.
The Allowance is determined by the user’s Package (see below) and the number of Additional Properties purchased during the current Subscription Period (Professional only).

• Basic and Advanced have an inclusive Allowance of 1.
• Professional has an inclusive Allowance of 3.
• Professional has an unlimited number of Additional Properties available to purchase.
• An Allowance may contain Active Properties or vacant Property Slots.
• Properties managed in another myForest account that have been shared with a user do not count towards their Allowance.

Additional Property
Each Additional Property increases a user’s Allowance by 1. They can be purchased by users with a Professional Package. Additional Properties renew alongside a user’s main subscription and are charged pro-rata if added partway through their Subscription Period.

Property Slot
A Property Slot is a space in a user’s Allowance which has not been filled with an Active Property. Property Slots can be filled by creating a new Property, activating an Inactive Property or by a property transfer from another user.

Inactive Property
An Inactive Property is a Property that cannot be opened, viewed or worked on.
They are greyed out in the user’s Dashboard. The only actions that can be carried out on an Inactive Property are to:

• Reactivate it, subject to available Property Slots in the user’s Allowance.
• Transfer it to another myForest user (Advanced and Professional only).
• Delete it.

Properties may be inactive for one of two reasons:

• The user has not chosen the Property as one of their Active Properties.
• The Property has been shared with the user and is inactive in the Property Manager’s account.

Property Sharing and Shared Properties
Shared Properties are ones that have been shared by their Property Manager with other myForest users as Editors or Collaborators (see Property Roles). Property Sharing allows more than one user to view and edit a Property, and download documents and maps. Sharing is controlled by the Property Manager and Editor(s). In addition, a Property Manager can transfer a Property to another myForest user that the Property has been shared with. Basic users can receive Shared Properties but cannot initiate Property Sharing.

myForest Dashboard
The Dashboard is where users manage their Properties. It displays lists of Active, Inactive and Shared Properties. Users can create new Properties, edit property details, delete Properties and manage Property Sharing from the Dashboard.

Subscription Period
The period of 1 year from a user’s last subscription payment.
